February 8th 2006 marked the third anniversary of our moving into our present accomodation, and there is still a lot of work to be done. Our building programme is in full swing, and work is currently taking place on our chapel. The support services we offer through our family life and women's ministries programmes are making a difference to the individuals we make contact with. Watch these pages for more on these in the coming weeks.

We are striving to make the presence of Jesus felt in our community through our involvement in meaningful community programmes and lively worship services. Our ultimate goal as a Church is to show that knowing Jesus really makes a difference. Please feel to visit us when we have our various programmes.

ADRA's current work in Haiti is principally focused on 25,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) staying in temporary shelters on the campus of the Haitian Adventist University and the Adventist Hospital of Haiti in Carrefour, a neighbourhood in Port-au-Prince, where ADRA has setup a command centre.

"Thousands of people remain in makeshift camps where the food and sanitation situation is precarious," reports Richard Jaqua, an ADRA staff member who is helping to coordinate the logistics for ADRA's emergency response in Haiti.

On Monday, 18 January, ADRA distributed nearly 13,000 rations of high-energy nutritional biscuits donated by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in several sites in Port-au-Prince. Each ration contains enough food for a person for five days. Already, ADRA, working with a team from Canada-based partner GlobalMedic, has set up a water distribution centre and is providing medical assistance.
